Track session at Herne Hill Velodrome

Our second club trip to the "...iconic open-air cycle track in South East London. It is the only remaining venue still in operation from the 1948 Olympic Games....

....The track is 450 meters long with the steepest part of the banking being 30 degrees. It was designed this way to make the riding and racing both a pleasure and a thrill. The banking isn't as steep as the indoor wooden tracks, making this an ideal place to introduce beginners and youth riders to track cycling, however it is steeper than most outdoor tracks, making for fast and exhilarating racing - the ideal compromise.......Bradley Wiggins started his riding career at Herne Hill Velodrome".

Pre-booking essential: contact: p_kcanning@hotmail.co.uk

Cost £6.50, including bike hire for club members.

Non members - a reserve list will operate should there be sufficient space available.

A really fun session for both novices and those with a little more track experience.
