Half-term session: Brooklands (former car race circuit) for all ages and bike types

For all ages...... flagged up a s suitable venue by Sean Lamberth, one of our new parents and coach-in-waiting.

There is a massive expanse of space in the centre of a bowl that once had a concete car race track round the perimeter.... with a massive banking as back in the 1920s cars were already hitting 200mph.

Also.... in the centre there was once an airfield, in fact Wellington bombers were built and launched here.

Today there are three massive tarmaced zones, two of them with a go-cart circuit format superimposed that we could whizz round.... plus loads of grassy space.

So something for all.

We will never get all that far from the start point, but for the first visit you need to be with a parent, unless you come with a pal and their parent covers for both of you.

To the north, 500m away, there is a car museum there with some famous vehicles from the distant past that in their time were the fastest in the world.

As you arrive and see the Tesco Extra supermarket on your left, you should see the entrance to the car park for the Country Park on your right.

If you see a roundabout with a Concorde supersonic aeroplane in the middle then turn back, you have come one roundabout too far.

Post code for Sat Nav..... there are issues.... so three options coming up

Sean Lamberth's definitive option: KT13 0YF

Officially the site says KT13 0YU
I went using that one and got diverted into an industrial estate.... I notice lots of others saying the same thing, so be warned.
Better option is Tesco Extra which is KT13 0XR.... when you see Tesco turn right at the roundabout you are approaching and you are there.
British Cycling run Sky Go-Ride events from this same carpark and they use the postcode of
KT13 0YF.... but I've not tried that myself.
