Raiders' skills challenge...... more riders get close to the 40-second barrier

The skills course that we've been doing in several schools this summer is being replicated at Raiders’ sessions from time to time.

Everyone rides against the stop-watch on their own and records a time.

Eventually we should get a long list of results of everyone.

Then we could work out the average times for each age group.

From that we could set performance standards so that everyone could see what they needed to achieve to get into the 'silver' and 'gold' bands for their age.

Pass another birthday and you’re into a new world…. as riders boost their skills at weaving and cornering they could step forward and apply to attempt to 'upgrade'.

Here's the figures from the first two sessions:
Sunday 3 Oct        2010
Sunday 7 Nov        2010

Note:

•    There is a 10-second penalty for each cone knocked over - it has had an effect on several figures.
•    There is a 'maximum' of 1min 30sec  - it has used just the once when a rider forgot to turn at the far and went pedaling/wandering off into the mists of time… but with her dad in hot pursuit... thank you, that man.
